Good news: there is a future again for Amsterdam salon boat shipping companies
Recently, the Council of State made a positive decision on Amsterdam’s boating policy. The City of Amsterdam must go back to the drawing board, because they failed to properly justify why they believe the number of permits for canal boats should be greatly reduced. Thus, after seven years of struggle, Amsterdam salon boat companies finally have future prospects again. Good news then, because it means our classic saloon boats can continue to sail through Amsterdam’s canals!

This positive ruling by the Council of State is the icing on the cake of our 25th anniversary, which we will proudly celebrate in 2025. Enthusiastically, we are making plans for the future and are fully committed to making our fleet even more sustainable. We are starting with the electrification of our Dame van Amstel, so that she too will soon be sailing silently and emission-free through the canals. Amsterdam also celebrates anniversary
Amsterdam is celebrating its 750th anniversary, and the festivities have officially kicked off with the opening concert at the Ziggo Dome. Over the next year, the city will be buzzing with activities, from small-scale neighborhood festivities to grand events. There is something special for everyone. This year, 22 artists shine their light on the theme of Rituals with 27 unique works of light art. The selection includes both renowned and emerging international artists, and the artworks range from geometric projections to immersive installations. From the water, aboard our covered and heated salon boats, you will fully experience how this world-class art blends into the historical context of Amsterdam.
